The word that exemplifies my work with Laura is “intentional”. So many things in my life are on auto pilot, or I am multi-tasking so much I start “flying by the seat of my pants”. While I can and do get things done in both of these modes, it isn’t the best or most efficient… Read more “Kara Rogers”

Do You Find Yourself ‘Bracing for Impact’? Wake up and Find Meaning in the Mess! With Brigette Serfaty, Executive Coach & Pharmacist
PodcastHave you ever found yourself at a place in your life where you felt like you were living the worst country song ever – everything that could go wrong was or had, and the train wreck was imminent? That’s how this week’s guest, Brigette Serfaty, describes what was going on in her life that led to her wake-up call: There’s something wrong here and it could be me! It’s time to stop living on auto-pilot and live a more conscious life!
Brigette had – going with the flow and striving to meet the expectations of everyone around her about how life worked and what success was supposed to be like – created a life where she was over working, over-achieving, running herself into the ground…
Eventually, she woke up enough to ask herself a simple, yet powerful, question: Why am I making these choices to stay in this life-sucking situation?
Then she asked: What do I want?
What she discovered was “life is in the middle of all of it – not the things you’re waiting for, but what’s going on right now.” That new awareness sparked the knowing that engagement is the opposite of autopilot. Giving herself permission to slow down, feel her feelings, and simply breathe has made all the difference. She explains that our bodies will tell us what we need to know, if we’d make space and time to tune in and listen. Then we can stop bracing for impact!
This is a deep and powerful exploration for how to do that. Laura and Brigette pose and respond to a number of other questions about what matters most, how important ‘white space’ in your calendar is, and their collective hope for the younger generations who seem intent on doing life differently.
Brigette’s Bio
Brigette Serfaty helps high-achieving professionals who feel like they’re missing out on their lives & trading their wellbeing for their work to start prioritizing what matters to create the balance & meaning they’re craving-without dropping out at work or at home.
As a coach for high-achievers, Dr. Serfaty helps her clients find wellbeing, work-life alignment, and space for what matters.
She’s the President of Aligned Engagement Strategies Group, an executive coaching practice.
With 30 years of corporate leadership & management pharmacy experience, Brigette has plenty of practice doing the dance between work-life balance & overcommitment… falling down repeatedly & finally learning the lesson of prioritizing health & wellbeing to optimize performance.
That’s why Brigette expanded her focus to becoming certified in lifestyle medicine & health and wellness coaching – because she understands how difficult it is to balance performance & optimal well-being over the long-term when you are in a demanding professional position. To further serve her high-performing clients, she’s focused on strengths-based coaching and certified in mindfulness, yoga, and yoga therapy.

When Uncertainty Sabotages Productivity, It’s Time to Get Back to Basics with Todd Snyder, Psychologist and Productivity Coach for Entrepreneurs
Podcast“‘Simple’ is often way more powerful than we imagine,” explains this week’s guest, Todd Snyder. Conversely, “certainty unlocks productivity in ways that are surprising.”
When someone doesn’t have a clear vision for what they want or are working towards, it’s nearly impossible to make progress. As a productivity coach for entrepreneurs, Todd works with a variety of clients who often have a few things in common: Lack of clarity about what they are striving to create or achieve, inability or unwillingness to make decisions, and no clear plan forward.
He is able to skillfully help his clients discern their focus, make decisions, and craft easy-to-follow action plans. In alignment with Laura’s principle that “One Size Does NOT Fit All,” Todd has a lot of tools and processes at his disposal, from which he picks and chooses based on each client’s specific needs.
His background is as a clinical psychologist, having done significant work in trauma disorders, relationship counseling, and marital counseling, but working with business owners is his sweet spot. “I love the pace, the opportunity to help clients implement quickly, and see a real–world impact,” he explained.
Laura and Todd also explore his youth and some unique experiences growing up, that sparked his interest in personal and professional development. As with any good ‘travel guide,’ he is able to serve his clients well because he’s traveled a similar path.
Todd’s Bio
Dr. Snyder has completed both a Master’s Degree and a Doctoral degree at Baylor University’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience in Texas. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Baltimore, Maryland, he moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, (near Chicago) where he currently lives with his wife and two sons.
He has worked as a self-discipline coach, stress-management consultant, and productivity consultant for people all over the globe. Prior to developing his current specialty, Snyder worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice, as a marriage counselor, and as a relationship coach.
Due to word of mouth and a few interviews, he inadvertently became a consultant to business owners in the world of online e-commerce, especially in the areas of integration marketing, productivity, and decision making.
Throughout his career, he has been a student of what he calls “active ingredients” of success. These are the few variables that make the biggest difference when trying to accomplish a specific goal or outcome.
In his various roles as counselor and consultant, he became increasingly aware of the power of decisions to steer people’s lives toward happiness or misery, success or frustration. The problem is, when it comes to productivity, most of us don’t feel in control of the decisions we make about where we focus our limited time and energy.
Fortunately, he’s found a solution for that problem. As a student of peak performance, he continuously refines the key insights and mental models that can flip the switch for uncommon results.
